Vishwakarma Institute Of Information Technology (VIIT) is a prestigious institution that offers B.Tech programmes in a variety of fields, including computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering, and so on. The institute was founded in 2005 and has been accredited by NAAC.

VIIT assists students from all around India with their admissions needs. The Common Entrance Test is used to determine admission to VIIT (CET or JEE). Students that pass the CET or JEE are subsequently admitted to their desired programme.

What are the different modes of Admission in VIIT?

1. Central Level Entrance Exam (JEE)

Syllabus of the JEE Main Exam

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are covered in the JEE Main exam syllabus. These are the three topics covered in the admission exam.

Syllabus for JEE Advanced

The advanced level examination is divided into two parts: physics and mathematics. This is a prerequisite for admission to IITs.

Exam Pattern for JEE Mains

The exam pattern varies from year to year. The core framework, however, stays the same. The test consists of four papers (two objective type and two descriptive type). Each paper is 2 hours long.

2. State Level Entrance Exam (MH- CET)

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay administers the MHT- Common Entrance Test (CET) (IITB). This test is carried out twice a year, in January and July.

CET is used to gain admission to various engineering programmes offered by IITs. Students who have completed their 12th-grade examination are eligible to take this exam.

The test will last 2 hours and 30 minutes. The test is divided into two sections: Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

3. Management Quota

The government has decided that direct admission through management quotas will be permitted for engineering admissions beginning with the current academic session. This means that students who have completed their 12th grade can apply for admission to BTech/BE/BArch courses without taking an entrance exam.

The students can get direct admission through paying management fees to the college for the remaining seats from the counseling rounds.

What is the eligibility criteria for Engineering Admission?

1. B. Tech Admission Eligibility

The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
You must have completed the HSC or its equivalent, with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as required subjects.
A minimum of 50% of the marks must be attained (at least 45 percent marks for those belonging to backward classes and persons with disabilities in Maharashtra only).
The candidate must appear in all CET subjects and receive a non-zero score in the CET administered by the Competent Authority.

2. M. Tech Admission Eligibility

The candidate should be of Indian origin.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering & Technology from an institution recognized by the AICTE or the Central or State Government, or an equivalent degree, is required.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) offered by the Indian Institute of Technology yielded a non-zero positive result.
